Tickets sold a whopping 30 times their price at Chinnaswamy stadium yesterday A tout makes hay while IPL shines at the Chinnaswamy stadium where tickets priced at a measly Rs 49 sold for Rs 1,500 yesterday.
After the first victory of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) over Kings XI Punjab at Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 16, the demand for IPL tickets has shot through the roof.
This has led to black marketing of tickets around Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) premises.
Tickets for yesterday's match between RCB and Royal Challengers of the Member's Stand which offers an excellent view worth Rs 49 were sold for Rs 1,500 a seat. This reporter saw the tickets being sold openly outside Chinnaswamy stadium.

'How many?'
The price for a Rs 220 ticket was Rs 500, while the Rs 550 ticket was being sold for Rs 650. Similarly, tickets of Rs 700 denomination was sold for Rs 1,100, while the Rs 1,500 ticket fetched toutsRs 1,700.
"Buy it now or you wont get one. The demand is high. Tell me the number of tickets you need and I'll get it for you in few minutes," a tout told this reporter.
Apart from those selling tickets, there were agents too who brought the people looking for tickets to the sellers for a commission of Rs 100 per deal.
'It's not new'
Another person selling tickets outside the stadium said, "You can take my contact number and fix up a meeting. We can meet somewhere as where I'll hand over the tickets to you."
He added that he could arrange tickets for any match happening at the Chinnaswamy stadium, if informed in advance.
Interesting, tickets priced at Rs 1,100 were being sold for Rs 1,000. When enquired, the peddlers said that they have got those tickets from several Bangalore clubs who had got it for free.
