A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Court in Lucknow has convicted and sentenced Ajay Kumar Gaur, the then branch manager of the State Bank of India (SBI)’s Shahupuri Branch in Uttar Pradesh's Chandauli district, to four years' imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 90,000 in a bribery case.

As per IANS, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) earlier registered the case on February 26, 2018, against Gaur on the basis of a complaint alleging that he had demanded an illegal gratification of Rs 50,000 for sanctioning and disbursing a personal loan of Rs 10 lakh to the complainant.
