Varsity sparkles up Diwali for 60 students left alone on campus

While the rest of the Pune was busy celebrating Diwali with loved ones, some Pune University students who couldn't afford to go home were by themselves at hostel. The V-C decided to amp up the festivities for them with a surprise celebration
It’s tough being a student, even more so when you’re away from home cooped up in a desolate university, far from your loved ones, and it is festival time. When some 60 hostel students of the University of Pune could not make it home for the Diwali break for some or the other reason – many are from modest backgrounds and cannot not afford the journey to and back to their native places - the varsity head decided to light up their gloomy Sunday.
