The villages also took a day off from work to participate in the event. &ldquo;The crowd was more than we expected. This indicates that people are becoming aware of the movement and willing to join in,&rdquo; Borkar said. Although it was an emotional gathering, the villagers utilised the opportunity by brainstorming to find ways to take the movement ahead. &ldquo;I think we&#39;ll have to go to every village and people understand how dreadful the nuclear plant will prove for the locals,&rdquo; said Vaishali Patil, an activist.
