The incident took place at Dattakripa Housing Society in Santoshnagar, Katraj on Wednesday afternoon. Bharati Vidyapeeth police said it has not recovered any suicide note from the spot. However, cops suspect that the woman, whose husband died in an accident a year ago, might have taken the extreme step owing to depression.

The deceased have been identified as Rani Sachin Raut, and her son Soham (8) who was a class III student. Police said that after the death of her husband, Rani and her son had moved into her parents’ home in Dattakripa Housing Society.
