Many low-lying areas in the city also remained inundated, a government official said.

"The water level, which rose to 207.20 metres mark (on Wednesday), came down to 207.15 metres around 9 a.m. today (Thursday). But it is still above the danger mark of 204.83 metres. We expect the water level to reach 207 metres by afternoon," Dharampal, secretary of Delhi's revenue and disaster management department, told IANS.
