Budget 2024: Here’s how political leaders reacted to the Interim Budget 2024 by Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Interim Budget 2024-25 today. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor labelled it as one of the shortest speeches on record in the Budget and termed it disappointing. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh mentioned it as an encouraging budget and said that the government is fully confident of achieving the target of becoming a developed nation by 2047. Congress MP Manish Tewari said that it is a `vote-on-account` which has only one purpose to keep the government solvent for the first quarter of the current fiscal year. Union Minister VK Singh said “Everything will be for `Vikshit Bharat`...everything has been discussed in the budget to strengthen the economy...".
