Said former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn when he was arrested for allegedly molesting hotel maid New details emerged yesterday of the moment Dominique Strauss-Kahn was arrested as he sat on a plane waiting to head back to France. The IMF boss reacted with total disbelief that he was being placed in handcuffs, claiming falsely that he had diplomatic immunity. The disgraced French financier was hauled off the Paris-bound plane at JFK a month ago on charges he'd tried to rape a hotel chambermaid. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2011/jun/kahn1.jpg" border="5" /> Facing justice: Strauss-Kahn makes his first court appearance in the New York state Supreme Court where he pleaded not guilty. File Pic/AFP According to police statements, the French presidential hopeful and the then-head of the International Monetary Fund repeatedly asked officials, "What is this about?" and "What for?"u00a0 After saying he diplomatic immunity, he asked the Port Authority officers, "Can I speak to someone from the French Consulate?" They told him that only NYPD officers could explain things to him at that point, the files reveal. En route to the Manhattan Special Victims squad, Strauss-Kahn again tried to find out what was happening. Aside from the indignation at being cuffed, he complained, "These handcuffs are tight." By 11 pm, after six hours in custody, he had spoken to his lawyer William Taylor.u00a0
