A study using AI to analyse eight million digitised plant specimens found nearly 30,000 plant species and over 410 fungal species face extinction.

The research, revealed that flowering times have shifted by 2.5 days per decade on average. However, only 18 per cent of plant species and 0.6 per cent of fungi have been assessed for extinction risk, leaving huge gaps.
