<p>The incident took place on Tokyo&rsquo;s Shuto Expressway. Just moments into the drive, the man&mdash;known online as Honkon&mdash;noticed white smoke rising, initially thinking it came from a nearby car.&nbsp;</p>
<p>When it became clear the smoke was from his own vehicle, he pulled over and called emergency services. Despite their efforts, the luxury car was almost entirely destroyed by the fire, which is believed to have originated in the engine.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;I think I&rsquo;m the only person in Japan to have experienced such trouble,&rdquo; Honkon wrote on X, captioning a photo of the burning car.</p>
<p>Authorities found no sign of collision and have launched an investigation. Though devastated, Honkon expressed relief at having escaped unharmed. The story has since sparked a wave of sympathy and disbelief on Japanese social media.</p>
