Google will begin shutting down Google Assistant from September 4 as it transitions users to Gemini, its next-generation AI assistant. The phased rollout will affect Android, Wear OS, Android Auto and supported accessories, while vehicles equipped with Google built-in will continue receiving assistant support

Google will begin shutting down its Google Assistant service from September 4, as the company moves users towards Gemini as its next-generation assistant experience.

The shutdown will begin from that date, but Google said the change “may take a few weeks”. The shutdown will affect users across Android and Wear OS devices.
