Hyundai Motor Group has begun testing humanoid robots at its automobile manufacturing facilities in the US. The trials, taking place at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Georgia, aim to evaluate real-world performance and gather operational data ahead of possible commercialisation.

In early January, Hyundai announced its plans to deploy a scalable platform capable of integrating up to 30,000 of its ‘Atlas’ humanoid robots per year by 2028 to automate repetitive factory work. In the initial phase, Atlas robots will be assigned to parts sorting tasks. From around 2030, their role is expected to expand.
