Concerns are mounting in Balochistan as Pakistani security forces have forcibly abducted another Baloch woman in Turbat. This incident marks the second time a Baloch woman has reportedly gone missing in just over a month, according to The Balochistan Post, highlighting a disturbing chain of enforced disappearances in the region.

Meanwhile the woman forcefully abducted has been recognized as Rubina Baloch (30), She was apprehended on Monday while she was at her sister's home in the Overseas Colony region of Turbat city, The Balochistan Post reported.

Rubina, who works as a government Lady Health Visitor, hails from Gowarkop in the Kech district. Eyewitnesses stated that she was taken by personnel from the Frontier Corps and Military Intelligence during a targeted operation conducted at approximately 4 pm local time. Her whereabouts are currently unknown, and she remains missing.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has since confirmed the incident, expressing grave concern over what it characterised as a "growing trend" of enforced disappearances targeting Baloch women. The committee has vehemently demanded Rubina's immediate and unconditional release, reported ANI.

Further condemning the abduction, the Baloch Women Forum released a statement expressing deep distress: "It is extremely distressing to learn that this afternoon at around 4 pm on June 30, another Baloch woman, Rubina Baloch, daughter of Mohib Ullah and a resident of Sari Kallag Gowarkop, was forcibly taken from her sister's residence in Turbat's Overseas Colony. She is professionally a Lady Health Visitor, who was taken unlawfully."

The forum cautioned that such instances of Baloch women going missing are "becoming increasingly frequent," a development that raises serious human rights concerns. It urgently appealed to the state's law enforcement bodies to "avoid involving women in the atrocious act of enforced disappearances and unknown detentions," emphasising the particular vulnerability of women in such situations.

Meanwhile Rubina's abduction follows closely on the as the chain of another significant disappearance.

Just a month prior, Mahjabeen Baloch, a 24-year-old student and polio survivor, was reportedly taken from the Quetta Civil Hospital on May 29.

Mahjabeen had been temporarily residing at the hospital due to a lack of space in her university hostel. The Balochistan Post reported that she was allegedly taken during a coordinated operation involving local police, the Counter-Terrorism Department, and intelligence personnel.

According to ANI, like Rubina, Mahjabeen's whereabouts also remain unknown, adding to the growing list of enforced disappearances in the region.
