US President Donald Trump stated that the war with Iran would conclude “very quickly” and predicted oil prices would “drop like a rock” once hostilities end. Depicting Iran as economically devastated with 301 per cent inflation and militarily crippled with its navy and air force destroyed, Trump asserted Tehran faces a decisive choice on how the conflict resolves.
To mitigate energy costs, Trump mentioned the US might request the release of diesel reserves from an European nation. Acknowledging elevated crude prices, he maintained they remain lower than under former President Joe Biden. He also emphasised that the US has sustained petroleum transit despite Iranian constraints near the Strait of Hormuz, promising that Iran will never acquire a nuclear weapon.
