Vice President J.D. Vance is facing growing backlash after refusing to apologize for resharing controversial claims tied to the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse from Minneapolis who was killed during a federal immigration enforcement operation. The controversy escalated after White House aide Stephen Miller publicly labeled Pretti a “would-be assassin”, alleging he attempted to kill federal agents. Vice President Vance reshared the post and when asked in an interview whether he would apologize to Pretti’s family, he responded bluntly: “For what?” adding that it would be wrong to “prejudge the investigation”.
