A peaceful summer retreat turned into a disaster zone in Ruidoso, New Mexico, after intense monsoon rains triggered flash floods. At least three people are missing, a house was swept away, and 85 swift water rescues were carried out by emergency teams. This comes just days after catastrophic floods in Texas claimed over 100 lives, with many still missing. As the Rio Ruidoso surged 19 feet, local officials scrambled to rescue trapped residents and clear the destruction.
