Nepal’s catastrophic floods have killed at least 1,050 people, while around 4,000 remain missing nearly a week after the Himalayan disaster. More than 11,000 people have been rescued, but hundreds remain stranded at damaged hydropower sites and nearly 300 workers are believed to be trapped inside tunnels. Rescue teams are using helicopters, heavy machinery and temporary bridges to reach isolated areas, with India, China and other international teams assisting the operation. The disaster has left more than 2.2 million tonnes of debris and caused widespread damage to roads, bridges, power infrastructure and communities across Nepal.
