Nepal floods have claimed at least 1,344 lives, while around 5,000 people remain missing as rescue operations continue across the Himalayan nation. More than 13,000 people have been rescued so far, while Indian rescue teams have advanced inside the Chilime hydropower tunnel in a major effort to reach people still believed to be trapped underground. Around 900 hydropower workers remain unaccounted for, making the tunnel searches one of the biggest challenges facing rescuers. Teams from India, China and South Korea are supporting Nepal’s rescue operation.
