A magnitude 5.7 earthquake has struck off the east coast of Honshu, Japan — just days after a much stronger 7.6 quake rattled the region. Seismic officials confirm the offshore tremor hit near Kuji, an area known for powerful quakes and tsunami history. No tsunami alert has been issued, but the quake has reignited fears that the Pacific Ring of Fire — the world’s most active seismic belt — is showing increased activity.
