In Ghatkopar, the unique Operation Sindoor theme honored India’s military strength and readiness. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis also joined the celebrations at various Dahi Handi events across Mumbai. Despite the downpour, thousands turned up, showcasing teamwork, devotion, and courage to keep the tradition alive.

Mumbai Metro One, the city’s first elevated metro corridor is launching a shuttle service between Andheri and Ghatkopar to improve service frequency and accommodate more passengers during peak hours on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar line, one of the busiest routes in the city. This will help reduce wait times for commuters. From 8:30 am to 10:30 am in the morning and 6 pm to 8 pm in the evening, Metro One will operate shorter trips between Ghatkopar and Andheri—skipping the longer route to Versova. 10 March,2025 05:41 PM ISTAs many as 14 people died and 74 people were injured after a massive hoarding collapsed in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar on May 13. A team of NDRF carried out rescue operations. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh to the victims’ next of kin. RTI Activist Anil Galgali has demanded action against those who are responsible for the tragic incident. Eknath Shinde warned that a case of “culpable homicide” will be registered against whoever is responsible for the incident. Watch video for more.
15 May,2024 12:09 PM ISTIn a tragic incident, as many as 14 people were killed after a massive hoarding collapsed in Maharashtra’s Ghatkopar on May 13. As per NDRF, 74 people have been rescued alive from the spot as the recuse operation is underway. NDRF has been conducting rescue operations for the trapped since Monday evening when the incident occurred due to heavy rains, strong winds. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde rushed to the incident site and took stock of the rescue operation. He also announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased. Taking to ‘X’, President Droupadi Murmu, VP Jagdeep Dhankhar mourned the deaths and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.
