Girgaon
As Mumbai gears up for Ganeshotsav 2026, the historic Khotachiwadi neighbourhood in Girgaon is glowing with festive lights and devotional spirit. The Akhil Khotachiwadi Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal is celebrating its 100th year this year, marking a century of faith, community and tradition. Known as Khotachiwadi Raja or VP Roadcha Raja, the Ganpati idol sits in a quiet corner of the heritage village. The ten-foot tall Ganpati idol is made from paper pulp, adding to the traditional and distinctive character of the celebrations. Known for its Portuguese-style homes and narrow lanes, Khotachiwadi comes alive with colour and devotion during the festival. (Pics/Special Arrangement)
