Israel’s military says it has eliminated Hamas Nukhba platoon commander Hisham Jamal Muhammad Abu Ghala in an airstrike in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. The IDF and Israel Security Agency (ISA) accuse Abu Ghala of helping lead the October 7 attack on the Kissufim outpost and participating in the abduction of Israelis. Israeli forces also allege that he was advancing attacks against Israeli troops and civilians while rebuilding Hamas’ military capabilities in violation of the ceasefire. The Nukhba force is Hamas’ elite fighting unit, whose members were involved in the October 7 assault on southern Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says it has destroyed four weapons storage facilities across Gaza in coordinated strikes carried out with the Shin Bet. According to the Israeli military, the sites were linked to Hamas and contained rockets, mortars, explosive devices, Kalashnikov rifles and other combat equipment.
