Mumbai's Nair Hospital is set to establish the city's first dedicated Disaster Management Ward to provide specialised treatment during mass casualty incidents such as building collapses, train accidents, fires and other major emergencies. The facility is expected to become operational within the next six months.

Three women devotees lost their lives and around 18 Warkaris were injured after a truck accompanying the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi convoy ran over devotees near Jejuri in Pune district during the Ashadhi Wari on Sunday. Authorities have launched an investigation into the fatal accident.
