Inaugurated on May 11, 2025, this crucial East-West connector in Mumbai is now fully functional. The bridge had been shut since 2022 after being declared unsafe, causing major traffic snarls and frustration for commuters. The most talked-about issue — a 6-foot misalignment between the two sides of the bridge — has now been fixed. With a full 90-foot width now operational, the Gokhale Bridge is expected to ease congestion around the busy Andheri station and metro lines. Take a look.

Mumbai Metro One, the city’s first elevated metro corridor is launching a shuttle service between Andheri and Ghatkopar to improve service frequency and accommodate more passengers during peak hours on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar line, one of the busiest routes in the city. This will help reduce wait times for commuters. From 8:30 am to 10:30 am in the morning and 6 pm to 8 pm in the evening, Metro One will operate shorter trips between Ghatkopar and Andheri—skipping the longer route to Versova.
