A brief pause in Mumbai's monsoon has pushed vegetable prices up by 20-30 per cent, with vendors blaming weather-related crop damage, storage losses and lower arrivals. Traders say prices could increase further if the dry spell continues or heavy rain disrupts supply again in the coming weeks.
