After three days of continuous rain, Pune witnessed intensified showers on Wednesday, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a red alert for the entire district, including the ghat regions. The weather department has warned of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall through Thursday, with conditions expected to improve from Friday.

The embassy said the bodies will be flown from Ho Chi Minh City to Mumbai on a Vietnam Airlines flight, after which the respective state governments will coordinate with the victims' families for transportation to their hometowns
