A freight train was surrounded by a massive wildfire near Armstrong, Northern Ontario, as devastating forest fires continued to spread across Canada. Dramatic onboard footage shows towering flames on both sides of the railway tracks, with crew members fearing the fire could overtake the locomotive. The crew later escaped safely after abandoning the locomotive, while authorities battled more than 120 active wildfires and disrupted rail operations across northwestern Ontario.

A massive wildfire has erupted in the historic Fontainebleau Forest, just 70 kilometres from Paris, forcing evacuations, shutting highways and disrupting train services. Hundreds of firefighters and water-bombing aircraft have been deployed as France battles one of its largest fires amid a severe heatwave. The blaze comes as much of Europe faces extreme temperatures, with wildfires, evacuations and record-breaking heat spreading across France, Spain and Italy.
