Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a four-day visit to Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic on Saturday, with strengthening India’s strategic partnerships in Central Asia high on the agenda. In Tashkent, Modi is scheduled to hold talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on trade and investment, digital connectivity, defence and energy, while also visiting sites highlighting India’s historical and cultural ties with Uzbekistan. He will then travel to Bishkek to participate in the 26th SCO Summit and meet Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and other leaders.
