Delhi rains led to tense scenes at Jantar Mantar, where the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) continued its protest for the 20th day. Videos from the protest site show CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke confronting Delhi Police during a dispute over putting up tarpaulins amid the rain. Dipke is seen blocking the path of a police officer and following him during the exchange. The CJP alleges police prevented protesters from setting up temporary shelter, while Delhi Police has not publicly responded to the allegation.

Delhi witnessed its heaviest spell of monsoon rain as overnight showers flooded roads, triggered massive traffic jams and disrupted normal life across the capital. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert, warning of more heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning. Several parts of Delhi, including Dwarka, Greater Kailash, Munirka, Badarpur and Sadar Bazar, reported severe waterlogging. Major routes such as Ring Road, Outer Ring Road, NH-48 and the Delhi-Noida Expressway witnessed long traffic snarls. The heavy rain also turned deadly after an under-construction building collapsed in Rohini, killing three people.
