Tensions erupted in Mumbai's Mazgaon late Sunday night during the arrival procession of the Mazgaon Cha Morya Ganpati idol. Ganpati devotees and local residents alleged that eggs were hurled at the procession from a nearby building, triggering a large gathering and heated arguments. Police rushed to the spot and appealed to the crowd to remain calm. An FIR has been registered against unidentified persons, while CCTV footage is being examined to identify those allegedly involved.

From Lalbaug to Girgaon, devotees thronged the streets, chanting “Ganpati Bappa Morya”, waving flowers, and dancing to the beats of dhol-tasha. After the final aarti in the pandals, idols were taken for immersion, blending devotion with eco-friendly practices. Millions joined the festivities, making the Ganpati Visarjan procession one of the most vibrant and emotional events of the year.
