The Congress government in Telangana announced plans to inaugurate a "Donald Trump Avenue" in Hyderabad. The road, located near the United States Consulate in Cyberabad's Financial District, is scheduled to be inaugurated on June 23 in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and senior US officials. The move has triggered intense debate because Congress leaders have repeatedly attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his handling of Donald Trump and US relations. The BJP is now accusing Congress of hypocrisy, asking why a Congress government is honouring the very leader its national leadership has criticised.
