Protests broke out outside IIT Bombay’s main gate in Powai around noon, prompting Mumbai Police to detain demonstrators. Nearly nine students protesting inside the campus at Justice Corner were also taken away in a police bus. The demonstration comes amid concerns following a student’s death by suicide in September.
