MSEDCL detected 27,964 electricity theft cases involving Rs 66.28 crore across Maharashtra between June and August 2026. The power utility used AI-based predictive analysis, machine learning and more than 190 flying squads to identify suspected theft and recover dues

The action was carried out on September 3 in Airoli village, Sainath Wadi, Deshmukh Wadi, Gothivali and Ghansoli under the Airoli sub-division of MSEDCL's Bhandup Urban Circle
