The political deadlock for Karnataka's Chief Minister post has been broken. Siddaramaiah will be the chief minister of Karnataka for the next 2.5 years and DK Shivakumar will be operating as his deputy. DK Shivakumar will be undertaking the CM post after 2.5 years. The Congress party has decided on a rotational formula for the post of Karnataka CM. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge worked late into the night on Wednesday to break the political deadlock over the next CM in Karnataka and reached a consensus for government formation.
