The Chief Minister emphasized that such actions were harmful and divisive, and he called on Congress to take responsibility for their actions. He further criticized the opposition party for playing political games at the cost of truth and asked them to apologize for misleading the public with the altered video.

In yet another jolt to Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, one of his most combative MLCs, Manisha Kayande, on Sunday quit the party to join Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction. She joined the Sena faction in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Kayande was dismissed from the post of Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson earlier, which might have led her to make this move. Kayande meanwhile claimed that she was unhappy with the party affairs and had waited for a year to see if the Thackeray-led faction would introspect over why party workers were leaving Shiv Sena (UBT). On Saturday night deputy leader Shishir Shinde also left the party, expressing displeasure that he had not been assigned any responsibility in his four years in the Sena (UBT).

The Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena (UBT) announced its alliance with Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) for the upcoming BMC Elections. We have come together with the idea of 'country first' and in a bid to keep democracy alive. Uddhav Thackeray criticized Modi’s visit to Mumbai. He said the BJP remembers the poor at the time of elections, later forget about their existence. Prakash Ambedkar and I are here today to form an alliance. My grandfather and Prakash Ambedkar's grandfather were colleagues and they fought against the social issues at that time. Thackeray and Ambedkar have a history. Now their future generations are here to fight on the current issues of the country. Babasaheb Ambedkar's grandson Prakash Ambedkar said the alliance marks the "beginning of new politics" in the country. Shiv Shakti and Bhim Shakti are coming together for a better future.
