A rare leopard gecko known as the "lemon frost" morph could provide scientists with a powerful new model for studying how cancer develops and spreads. Around 80 per cent of these pet geckos develop aggressive tumours, offering researchers fresh insights into why some species are highly susceptible to cancer while others rarely develop the disease.
