India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on 5th of March revealed how he left his “well-paying corporate job” to join Politics. He recalls that Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked him to join the government. “Personally it was a surprise, I never even thought about it, but, one of the reasons I never thought about it was that nobody in my family even remotely thought about it,” said EAM Jaishankar while interacting with Indian community in Seoul. He added that nobody in the family remotely even thpought of Politics and they are still wondering what he is doing. Watch video to know more what he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral meeting with Japanese PM Fumio Kishida, Vietnamese PM Pham Binh Minh, and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeo in Hiroshima on sidelines of 49th G7 summit on May 20. The leaders held discussion on wide range of issues and ways to enhance Indo-Japan, Indo-South Korean, and Indo-Vietnam ties. PM Modi arrived at Hiroshima on May 19 to attend 49th G7 Summit at the invitation by Japanese PM. India is among the eight special invitees to the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Hiroshima this week.

South Korean live-streamer Hyojeong Park was sexually assaulted by two men at Mumbai's posh Khar West area on November 29. Park was streaming live on an online platform when the assault took place. She was rescued from the situation by a viewer who was around the area. Mumbai police later arrested the two men, Mobeen Chand Mohammad Shaikh and Mohammad Naqeeb Sadrealam Ansari on December 1. In a major tragic incident, a stampede broke out during Halloween celebrations in South Korean Capital Seoul. At least 149 people were killed and several others got injured in the crash when a huge crowd surged into an alley. Many of the victims included teenagers and young adults in their 20s. Two foreigners were among the dead. It was the first Halloween event in Seoul after three years after the country lifted COVID restrictions. The USA termed the incident ‘heartbreaking’ and said that it is ready to provide any support to South Korea in such crucial times. US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on Saturday that reports of the Seoul stampede are heartbreaking and that Washington is ready to provide the Republic of Korea with any support it needs in such crucial times. The White House national security advisor made the remarks on Twitter as he hoped for quick recovery of those injured in the incident.

Two penguin chicks were born in the Mumbai-based Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan, popularly known as the Byculla Zoo, since May this year. The chick's sex determination is yet to be done, a release from the zoo authorities said. Eight penguins - three males and five females - were brought to the Byculla zoo from Coex Aquarium at Seoul in South Korea in 2016, and one of the birds later died.
