A dramatic video from flood-hit Nepal shows a family of three clinging to the balcony of a green two-storey house as a powerful torrent tears through everything around them. The footage captures muddy floodwaters surging through the area, carrying debris, structures and earth downstream. As the water closes in, the family appears trapped on the balcony with nowhere to go. But as the torrent eventually recedes, the green house is still standing — while much of the surrounding area has been devastated.

The Israeli Defense Forces say they have killed multiple Hamas operatives in separate strikes across Gaza, including an anti-tank unit commander and a Hamas commander accused of holding Israeli hostages. In a strike on the Al-Shati area of northern Gaza, the IDF says it eliminated Bilal Ibrahim Saleh Raqi'i, identified as a commander in Hamas's military wing's anti-tank array. The IDF also said Azzam Rifaat Abd Abadala, described as an operative in Hamas's Khan Younis Brigade, was killed in a separate strike in southern Gaza. In another operation in Khan Younis, Israel says it killed Ismail Mohammed Ibrahim Barim, a Hamas military-wing commander who allegedly participated in holding Israeli hostages Edan Alexander, Matan Zangauker and Avera Mengistu in an underground tunnel in southern Gaza.
