Saudi Arabia has launched fresh airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen as tensions surge following an attempted drone attack near Mecca. The Houthis have separately claimed that they shot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet over Yemen's Marib province, although Saudi authorities have not confirmed the reported aircraft loss. The escalation follows Saudi Arabia's announcement that its air defences intercepted and destroyed a drone near Mecca.
