Mumbai LIVE: Power and Internet services disrupted across western suburbs

Mumbai News LIVE Updates: Power supply was disrupted across several parts of Mumbai’s western suburbs on Friday evening following a tripping issue, Adani Electricity said in a statement. Areas including Andheri West, Goregaon and Malad were affected, with residents reporting outages and internet disruptions. The power utility said its teams are working to restore supply at the earliest. Versova resident Hitendra Pachkale said there has been no electricity supply in his area since 7.30 pm, adding that Seven Bungalows has also been affected. He said residents contacted the power supply company, which assured them that electricity would be restored by 8.30 pm. Follow LIVE updates here

In a traffic notification the police said, a large number of people will come to attend the meeting of PM Modi, due to which the traffic movement in western and eastern suburbs will be affected. In order to streamline traffic in western and eastern suburbs, the entry of heavy vehicles shall be banned on January 19, between 12.00 hrs to 21.00 hrs in western and eastern suburbs of the city on temporary basis.
