London: Alastair Cook admitted he was "gutted" to be omitted from England's World Cup squad after being replaced as one-day international captain by Eoin Morgan.

The decision to remove Cook as leader of the 50-over side inevitably overshadowed the announcement on Saturday morning of England's 15-man squad for next month's tri-series and then the World Cup which begins on February 14.
