In the Asia Cup 2025 match against arch-rivals Pakistan, Team India secured a comfortable win by six wickets at the Dubai International Stadium.
Over the years, fans have been creating hype before the clash, by labelling it as "intense rivalry" and whatnot! But the "Men in Blue" have been delivering a dominating performance against the "Green Shirts", which in itself tells the story.
After the recent victory over Pakistan, Team India skipper in the post-match press conference urged the media to stop calling it a rivalry, stating that the Indian team has been an overpowered force for Pakistan.
"Now, what is a rivalry? If two teams have played 15 matches and it's 8-7, that's a rivalry. Here it's 13-1 (12-3) or something. There is no contest," Suryakumar Yadav was quoted as saying by PTI.
During the match, there were several incidents where heated exchange was seen between the players of both teams.
Shubman Gill, who smashed several boundaries to lead pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, was seen giving a death stare, whereas swashbuckling Abhishek Sharma got into a heated conversation with bowler Haris Rauf.
The debate over whether Team India holds the upper hand on Pakistan or vice versa is no longer to be discussed. The Suryakumar Yadav-led men have given a fitting reply with their skills in all departments.
Although the Indians were seen having 'butter fingers' while fielding, the story was nothing short of different for the Pakistani players.
In the match, having been put to chase a target of 172 runs, Team India scored a total of 174 runs. Abhishek Sharma played a glorious knock of 74 runs off just 39 deliveries, which was laced with six boundaries and five maximums.
Fellow opening batsman, Gill, too smashed 47 runs in 28 balls, with the help of eight boundaries.
Later, Tilak Varma delivered a fiery knock of an unbeaten 30 runs. His knock came in 19 balls, which saw him smash two boundaries and the same number of maximums.
The result of the India vs Pakistan game remains to be no different as the "Men in Blue" continue to maintain their domination over Pakistan.
