Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan stirred up a controversy after celebrating his half-century against India on Sunday by mimicking gun fire.
Farhan hammered a six off India spinner Axar Patel in the 10th over to reach his fifty and then held up his bat like a gun and mimicked the action of firing from it while pointing towards the dressing room.
The act set off an online rage as it comes just months after 26 Indian tourists were killed by Pakistani terrorists in Kashmir’s Pahalgam region.
Some online fans immediately called for India to boycott the match while others compared Farhan’s actions to those of the terrorists in the Pahalgam incident.
