In the Asia Cup 2025 match against arch-rivals, Pakistan, Team India secured a comfortable victory by six wickets at the Dubai International Stadium.

During the first innings of the match, Pakistan's opening batsman Fakhar Zaman lost his wicket, while nicking it behind in the hands of India's wicket-keeper Sanju Samson.

Earlier, it seemed that the ball bounced on the ground before Samson collected it in the gloves. The on-field umpires referred the decision upstairs, and TV umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge, after multiple replays, adjudged that the ball had gone cleanly into the gloves. Fakhar was given out, much to the frustration of the Pakistan camp.

Speaking on the decision, skipper Salman Ali Agha said that, according to him, the ball bounced before the wicket-keeper collected it.

"I don't know about the decision. As far as I'm concerned, I thought it was... It's obviously umpire's job. Umpires can make mistakes and I have no problem with that but it does look like it bounced before to me, but I might be wrong. I don't know," said Salman.

"It was something, you can say, the way he was batting, if he batted throughout the power-play, we would probably have scored 190. You never know," he added.

However, no Pakistani players played a big knock, except for Sahibzada Farhan, who scored 58 runs in 45 balls, with the help of five boundaries and three maximums.

Riding on his knock, the "Green Shirts" reached the score of 171 runs for the loss of five wickets. Later, glorious knocks from India's Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill and Tilak Varma helped the side defeat the "Men in Blue" by six wickets.

Facing just 39 balls, Abhishek accumulated 74 runs, which was laced with six boundaries and five maximums. Shouldering him was Gill, who smashed 47 runs off 28 balls, including eight boundaries.

Later, Tilak gave the finishing touches as he played an unbeaten knock of 30 runs, which came in 19 balls. His knock also included two boundaries and the same number of maximums.

Pakistan's Haris Rauf bagged two wickets, followed by Abrar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf with one wicket each.
