The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is treading a cautious path following Mumbai Police's revelations that Team India leg-spinner Rahul Sharma and South African Wayne Parnell, who were arrested from a rave party in Juhu on May 20, have tested positive for recreational drugs.
The police claimed that the blood tests of 44 people, including Sharma and Parnell, who were picked up from the party in Juhu on the sidelines of the fifth season of the Indian Premier League, have shown the consumption of drugs.u00a0
The BCCI though are not fully convinced. “We don’t know how they (police) have come to a conclusion after conducting just one test. So, we will conduct our own parallel probe into the matter after getting all the relevant documents from the police. For that, we may even form a committee which will make its own inquiry and then decide on the future course of action,” a top BCCI official told SUNDAY MiD DAY.
