Midfielder David Beckham's loan deal from LA Galaxy to Tottenham will be completed in time by Friday, but the ace midfielder will not be able to play against his former club Manchester United, as he is short of the fitness level needed to compete in the Premier League.

After Beckham's first day training with Spurs, manager Harry Redknapp said: "Manchester United this Sunday would be a non-starter even if he does sign. He is not fit to play yet and he knows that. It's going to take him a few weeks to get back to anywhere near the fitness levels he's used to."
