<p>Australian pace spearhead Brett Lee has undergone a right elbow surgery and will have to wear a brace for the next six weeks before undergoing an intensive rehabilitation, Cricket Australia (CA) said on Thursday. </p>
<p><br />"Brett had surgery in Sydney yesterday to repair a damaged ligament in his right elbow joint," CA medical officer Dr Trefor James said.

<p><br />"He will be required to use an elbow brace for a period of approximately six weeks and then commence more intensive rehabilitation," he added. </p>
<p><br />James said Lee will be monitored and his return to the bowling would depend on his progress assessed by the medical staff of the board. </p>
<p><br />"His return to bowling will be determined in due course as he is regularly assessed by the surgeon and Cricket Australia's medical staff," James said.<br /></p>
