The English conditions can become troublesome for any team. It's good that India found them to their liking in the warm-up game against New Zealand at the Oval on Sunday.
Their seam bowlers did a fantastic job, while the batsmen got a good workout in a game truncated by rain.
With rain in the air both in London and Edgbaston, where India would be playing their opening match in the Champions Trophy against Pakistan on Sunday, it was a good workout for the Indian players which will keep them in good stead in their endeavour to defend their crown.
It rained in London on Sunday night too, but cleared up in time for India to have nets session at the Oval yesterday ahead of their second warm-up match against Bangladesh today. India would be praying that they get a full game so that all their players get a workout before the start of the tournament.

Kedar Jadhav, who will be playing his first ICC tournament, was candid enough to state that in English conditions the batsmen need to be more watchful and cannot go hammer and tongs from the beginning. &ldquo;Just like in Test match or Ranji Trophy, a batsman has to rely on sound technique in ODIs in England, especially when there is moisture in the air and grass on the pitch. &ldquo;It is good that we are getting an opportunity in such conditions before the start of the tournament. Our pace bowlers made a good use of the conditions, while the batsmen got the chance to get the IPL-type slam-bang batting out of their system,&rdquo; Jadhav said.
For once India have all the bases covered. They have a strong five-man pace attack to make use of the conditions, while the two class spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja give Indian attack a balanced look. If there was any concern, it was the form of main batsmen during the IPL. But the way skipper Virat Kohli and Co batted in testing conditions, has given the team a much-needed boost to their confidence.
India are, however, sweating on Yuvraj Singh's fitness who could not play in Sunday's game due to viral fever. He was not seen in the nets yesterday, so there is doubt on his appearance in today's match. After injuring his finger in IPL, the southpaw has not played much cricket, so his recovery from fever and form will be on top of India's watch-list.
