India have been involved in some interesting contests with Bangladesh in ICC tournaments with a lot of passion shown by the Bangladesh side wanting to upset the big brother.
They have come close a couple of time but failed to deliver the knockout punch. The most notable was the World T20 game that India won by the skin of their teeth. But nothing beats the World Cup quarter-final at MCG in March 2015.

After upsetting England in the last league game and making the knockouts, Bangladesh fancied their chances against India. They were such an improved side that they were confident of going all the way. Though they lost that game by over 100 runs, they felt cheated by the umpires and blamed International Cricket Council (ICC) for siding with India. This also led to diplomatic tension between India and Bangladesh, with prime minister Sheikh Hasina openly supporting her team.

The Bangladeshi supporters went on a rampage across different parts of the country including the capital Dhaka, where they even burnt an effigy of umpire Aleem Dar.

A controversial decision by square-leg umpire Dar angered fans &mdash; he called a no-ball for the delivery's "extra height" as Imrul Kayes claimed a catch off Rohit Sharma. Australian spin legend Shane Warne, who was on commentary then, said: "That should have been a wicket. The ball was under the waist."
Bangladesh had exhausted their DRS reviews so couldn't ask for one. Sharma went on to score a century to help India cross the 300-mark, which was too good for Bangladesh.

The then ICC president Mustafa Kamal, a Bangladeshi, also joined the protest against Dar, saying, "If needed, I will resign from ICC. Speaking as a fan, it appears to me that it (ICC) has become Indian Cricket Council."
An ICC statement by CEO Dave Richardson said: "The no-ball decision was a 50-50 call. The spirit of the game dictates that the umpire's decision is final and must be respected. Any suggestion that the match officials had 'an agenda' is totally baseless."

However, for the one-run loss to India in 2016 World T20 in Bangalore, Bangladesh have only themselves to blame. When the final over began, Bangladesh needed 11 to win. After a single and two fours off Hardik Pandya, Mushfiqur Rahim broke into premature celebration with two needed off three balls. Mushfiqur and Mahmudullah hit the next two balls in the air and were dismissed. With two needed off the last ball, India captain MS Dhoni raced to the stumps to run out Mustafizur.
A crestfallen Bangladesh then, have the chance to hit back today, as they face India in the Champions Trophy semis in Birmingham.
