Court orders probe into accusations of fixing in IPL against Srinivasan and Meiyappan

Indian cricket board president Narayanaswami Srinivasan suffered a major setback Friday after a court here asked the police to file an FIR and investigate allegations of match-fixing against him and his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, a former team principal of IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.

Complying with a local court order, Rajasthan Police today registered an FIR against BCCI president N Srinivasan and his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan on allegations of fixing an IPL VI match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium here on May 12.

On a complaint filed by former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi's legal counsel Mehmood Abdi, who is also president of Sri Ganganagar District Cricket Association, the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Satish Chandra Godara ordered the Jyoti Nagar Police station here to lodge the FIR.
